Nerang, located on Queensland’s Gold Coast, Australia, is a suburb with a mix residential, commercial, as well as industrial areas. It is located 12 km west of Surfers Paradise. The area is known for its beautiful parks and golf courses. It is popular for boating, fishing, and picnics. A platform at Arthur Earle Park allows you to catch flathead, bream, whiting, or trevally which live in the river.

The river is not the only attraction in Nerang. There are also recreational facilities such as interpretative centres, lakeside park, walking, biking and horse trails and areas for barbecues. Nerang is located in the inland region, but water is a common theme. The suburb’s heart has a strong emphasis on water. It is a popular spot to visit, as it houses a historic river mill that was built in 1910.

Nerang also has several shopping centers, including the Metro Market and Nerang Mall. There is also a train station which provides easy access to Brisbane and other parts on the Gold Coast. Nerang, with its beaches to the east and hinterland to the west makes it a great gateway to the Gold Coast for many tourists.

1. STUNT PARK EXPERIENCE

Stunt Park is a fun introduction to the world of stunts. It features a Jackie Chan-style Fight Scene, Flying On Wires such as the Superhero Movies and Ninja Warrior Style Obstacle Course. Instructors are top-notch athletes/stunt performers in their respective areas. You can film and photograph your social media friends.
 
The session lasts 60-90 minutes and provides you with an adrenaline rush unlike any other. Minimum two people required.
 
Stunt Park is home to Stunt Academy, Nerang on Gold Coast, just minutes from Surfers Paradise or Movie World. Reservations are available by appointment.

2. NERANG MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS

Nerang lies 12 km from Surfers Paradise. It is also just a few kilometers away from the Nerang train station.
Nerang hosted the mountain biking events for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
 
There are many options for cycling enthusiasts. Enjoy the thrill of riding 20-kilometres on designated mountain bike trails through dry rainforest or open eucalypt forest. The trails range from the Casuarina Grove circuit, which is easy, to intermediate tracks through tall forests and rugged terrain.
 
This is the most popular way to get there. Park at the Nerang Velodrome, Hope Street, and then cut through the centre of the facility. (Be aware that traffic can be a problem on the criterium circuit).
 
You can expect a variety fire trails, including off-shoots through technical singletrack through rock gardens and small drop-offs. The key to finding the tracks is exploration. You will find many single tracks that run off the fire trails. Get out there and explore. You can explore the area with someone you know by visiting the Nerang Mountain Bike Shop in Nerang West. The Gold Coast Mountain Bike Club runs a social ride every Saturday.

3. NERANG NATIONAL PARK AND STATE FOREST

Nerang National Park is only 12 km from Surfers Paradise’s heart. The State Forest and Nerang National Park offer tranquil refuge where you can unwind, relax and recharge in the natural world. This park and forest are popular with both locals and tourists. They provide a green backdrop for the Gold Coast hinterland township of Nerang.
 
Enjoy a scenic bushwalk along the Casuarina track that runs alongside the creek (2.7-kilometres return). Enjoy a peaceful horse ride on the network recreational trails that are shared by walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
